Moving to NJ & Looking for car insurance (Looking for no deposit car insurance)

Hello gals,

I’m moving from the big apple ( Kidding, I’m moving from Texas) to New Jersey for a little bit <1 year. One thing I didn’t do in New York was drive, so this is going to be my first time driving a car in over 5 years. With that comes the gas, parking, car insurance and repair fees. I can’t wait to pay sooooo much money to drive a car, cough cough!

Wish New Jersey had better public transit, but since that’s not the case I’m forced to lease a car for an exorbitant fee and pay for all the little extras like car insurance.

Which by the pay is looking to be more expensive then my monthly commuter pass in New York. This is madness!

Anyway, found some quotes for cheap auto insurance in NJ.

The thing is, I don’t even know what coverage I need, or should get. Full coverage car insurance, comprehensive insurance or something else entirely. Car insurance is super confusing! I’ve heard a lot of good things about no deposit auto insurance. One thing I like; finding very cheap car insurance no deposit is a lot easier than finding cheap full coverage car insurance! But I don’t think no deposit car insurance covers that much. Anyway before I sound like an expert, I read all of this here:

There’s wayy too many options and I have no idea what I should buy. If anyone can share a few words of wisdom with me it would be much appreciated.

One thing I know for sure, I’m going to be paying a lot more for car insurance in N.J than I paid for car insurance in Texas. Heck the best car insurance in texas probably cost less than the worst car insurance in NJ.  I’ll also be paying a lot more than most of my old university friends living in Georgia. I think they pay like $50 a month for some cheap auto insurance in GA. What a shocker.

I’ve scheduled a call with an insurance agent, but I don’t really trust them to have my best interest at heart. They probably want me to buy the most expensive insurance I can afford, not get what’s best for me..

Big thanks to anyone that can help me out!
